ANC to roll up its sleeves in preparation of opening of schools

The Provincial Leadership of the ANC will roll up its sleeves tomorrow (Tuesday 22 January) and assist with repairing and cleaning the Hector Petersen High School in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein.

This is in line with the call of the ANC`s declaration of 2002 as the Year of the Volunteer for Reconstruction and Development.

ANC Provincial Leader and Finance MEC Ebrahim Rasool, Provincial Secretary Mcebisi Skwatsha, Legislature Speaker Lynn Brown, MP`s, Councillors and local ANC members will from 08h30 assist the school staff in preparation for the first day of school for children on Wednesday.

The Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC has also issued an instruction to all its Members of Parliament and Provincial Legislature, Councillors and ANC Branches to heed the call of the President and volunteer their services to the community.

We expect all our public representatives and members to approach their local schools to volunteer their services and time.

As the ANC we have a duty to lead by example when it comes to the reconstruction of our communities.
