ANC to hold peace rally in Khayelitsha

Minister of Defence Mousuia Lekota, Minister of Transport Dullah Omar and the provincial leadership of the ANC will be addressing a peace rally in Khayelitsha on Sunday (9 July) after the loss of yet more innocent lives. The rally will take place at 1pm in the Khayelitsha Stadium.

On Thursday 6 July the ANC Youth League will be staging two protest marches at 3pm - one in Khayelitsha from the Engen Garage, Site C; and another one in Guguletu from the Sthembele Matiso High School.

A passenger was killed and attacked on Monday morning on a Golden Arrow bus several others were seriously injured.

Mr Lekota and ANC Provincial Secretary Mcebisi Skwatsha visited the scene of the shooting on Monday morning and vowed never to give in to these thugs who are intimidating commuters into not using busses as a means of public transport.

However the ANC calls on all people to remain calm in the face of this senseless attacks on people.
